Colin and Alan Green are brothers. Hailing from England, they’ve lived with their respective families in or around the Hills district since landing on Aussie soil in the 1960s.
“We came out from England in 1966 and moved to Kellyville in 1967,” said Colin, who is the younger of the two.
The brothers currently live around the corner from each other in Beaumont Hills, which wasn’t intentional. Their families are close and they see one another quite regularly for family occasions.
They were both looking to downsize and ended up buying apartments in the same mixeduse luxury development in Norwest – Esplanade.
“Louise, my wife, and I bought our apartment first. We made the purchase in June 2016,” said Alan.
“Colin and his wife Debra had just come back from their overseas trip and we were on the phone talking about his holiday. I told him the news that we’d bought an apartment at Esplanade and explained where it was and that there was a display suite.”
“The next thing I know, Colin called me and said we’re going to continue being neighbours. I must have done quite a good sales pitch – he made the purchase very quickly.”
The ‘sales pitch’ from Alan definitely sparked an interest with Colin, who admits he might not have been so inclined to visit the Esplanade sales suite had he not been told about it by Alan.
“We may have ended up eventually hearing about Esplanade if Alan hadn’t told us about the new community, but I’m not sure we would have gone to have a look. When he told me about it he seemed very excited and happy with the purchase – I knew he must have been onto a good thing,” said Colin.
The brothers have both bought a two-bedroom apartment and aside from continuing to be neighbours it was also the lifestyle Esplanade offered that was a big selling point. They also liked the fact the community is close to the new Norwest train station and the unique and stylish architectural design was also an important part of the decision making process.
“It will be great to come downstairs and have restaurants and cafés – that’s what you’d normally do on a holiday,” said Colin.
“There’s a lot we’re looking forward to with Esplanade. A nice apartment that has great aspects and a new community that offers a great lifestyle. I actually can’t wait to get in there – no lawns to mow and no more hedges to trim. I think living at Esplanade will bring Colin and I even closer – we can just pop downstairs for a coffee and a meal,” said Alan.

About Capital Bluestone
Over the course of the past 25 years, Capital Bluestone has delivered more than $2.5 billion in total project completions and has a current project pipeline of more than $2 billion.
This includes a $700m portfolio of 45 projects at Norwest, accommodating the workspace needs of more than 1000 businesses.
The group has more recently earned a market reputation for its approach to community focused development, with its flagship $750m Sutherland Shire project Woolooware Bay Town Centre.
The project will deliver more than 600 apartments, a new shopping, dining and entertainment precinct and a rejuvenated new Club environment for partner the Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club.
The project sold out all 460 available apartments in 2015, with Stage 1 now complete and occupied; and Stage 2 to be delivered early 2018. New apartments in Stage 3 – the final release in Woolooware Bay’s western precinct – have just been released to the market and attracted many repeat and referral buyers from the local area.
Capital Bluestone has recently broken ground on its near sold out 220-apartment development Veridian at Kogarah, to be delivered in partnership with Kogarah RSL.
The business is also development manager for Esplanade Norwest Lake and has worked with the community, council and business owners within the area to ensure the project fits with existing buildings but also brings about a renewed energy and sets a new benchmark for future projects within the area.
Other key projects in planning stages include work with Bondi Junction RSL, Wahroonga Estate and Parramatta Mission.
