Esplanade Norwest builders hit their high point and prepare to complete

7 August 2019: Builders on the 252-apartment Esplanade Norwest integrated lifestyle development have reached the highest point of the project’s two 19-storey towers, marking the important construction milestone with a traditional topping out ceremony.

Developer’s Aoyuan International, Capital Corporation and Carson Capital, and builders Westbourne craned up olive trees to the roof tops of each of the 19-storey Towers.

Construction has moved at a rapid pace since ground-breaking at the end of 2017, with workers averaging one floor every eight days.

At its busiest, the site has been abuzz with more than 325 workers, and despite some wet weather, the build program has kept up and the mid 2020 finish line is within sight, says Joel Bryant from Westbourne Constructions.

“It will be an intensive time to bring it to completion, but with topping out, the whole team gets huge satisfaction from celebrating this major milestone. It’s a massive achievement to see how far we’ve come. The view from up here isn’t bad either!”
