Lucy is a highly experienced facilitator and stakeholder engagement practitioner, with over 30 years’ experience in the private, government and non-government sectors.
She has designed, implemented and evaluated engagement programs in a wide range of applications including environmental assessments, infrastructure planning and construction, and policy and planning environments, and has developed social plans and social marketing strategies.
She is a dynamic and effective facilitator of events, workshops, meetings, forums, conferences, roundtables and public meetings and specialises in managing events in contentious and contested environments.
Her strengths lie in her ability to establish clear expectations, manage hostile and emotive comments and support presenters and participants to understand each other in an environment of mutual respect. Her straight-forward, no-nonsense approach is complimented by her highly relatable style, using clear communication and gentle humour so that the ‘real’ issues can be surfaced, acknowledged and managed.
Lucy has facilitated groups hearing about land acquisition and community severance as a result of road and transport infrastructure; high density development in low density residential areas; contentious policy issues such as feral animal management, access to land for surf lifesaving clubs and complex negotiations with State and Federal Ministers, Capital City Lord Mayors and between community groups and developers/councils. Lucy’s strengths lie in her ability to ‘say it as it is’ and to hear beyond the emotion to identify the drivers and issues requiring resolution.
